Just a stamp that I felt the need to make after receiving many nasty glares at work...for saying Twilight wasn't in my personal taste.

I'm going to say right now that I hardly believe in such a thing as "bad entertainment." If its sole purpose is to entertain, and someone somewhere is entertained by it, then it has served its purpose and therefore is good, regardless of technical flaws or how it achieves its goal. Therefore, despite not liking Twilight...I have never actually called it BAD.

Yet I get those angry glares anyway, and I keep feeling like it's only a matter of time before someone starts beating me up over it.

I'm sick to death of seeing people get VIOLENT over it. And I'm not going to sit here and pretend it's just the fans who have done it either; I've seen it on both sides of the board.

So seriously guys. All of you. Knock it off and get used to the fact that different people CAN and WILL have different taste in entertainment.

Stop calling others stupid because they don't share your opinion of a book.

Stop threatening them over it.

And for the love of all things good in this world, STOP getting VIOLENT over it.

That is all.

Thank you. :nod: I had to do it...I work in a library, and even in such a small town, I've had a bit of trouble with Twihards and Twiphobes. Just doing my part to...hopefully ease the tension a bit. ^^;

I have no idea how it happened, really. Most likely, someone on one side or the other started a minor argument, not realizing it would escalate or that they were throwing gasoline on a fire, got beaten up for talking smack to someone with a short fuse, and came home and played the totally innocent victim on the internet.

At least that's my belief.

It's sad, really. You see a lot of people complaining about getting cursed out or beaten up, and yet...if you'll pay attention to their stories, in a lot of cases they started it. While I don't condone the idea of violence or even just verbal fighting over entertainment...it's sad how a lot of people don't realize who ACTUALLY started it.

In a lot of cases, the "victim" was kinda asking for it. Should have been the bigger person and just walked away.
