Anti-Real-Person-Slash Stamp

It was begging to be made.

It's no secret that I dislike slash as a whole. As a writer, I hate it when people take someone else's characters and warp them to fit a fantasy. Joke? Maybe, depends on whether or not it's a DECENT joke. Strong hinting (and I do mean STRONG)? Whatever. But changing characters completely because it "looks hot" just makes me sick. It's disrespectful to the creators of the work. it really is.

With fictional characters, I've gotten decent at ignoring it. Whatever. It's gonna be out there, whether I like it or not.

HOWEVER...when you get REAL PEOPLE involved, THAT is where I draw the line.

Famous figures, or random people on the street. Each deserve more respect than that in my eyes. These are REAL PEOPLE, with REAL THOUGHTS AND FEELINGS. They're not just figments of someone's imagination, they're out there...and they deserve to be treated as the human beings they are. Not as just some puppet for you to pair with whoever you feel like.

It's about respect. If you can't respect a real, thinking, breathing person any more than you can a bunch of pixels, then kindly leave, and I do mean now. Or you will see just how disrespectful I can be to those who are disrespectful themselves.

Don't agree with me? Go ahead and flame. You're only driving my point home about your own ability to be respectful. :3

Just a clarification: With the word "slash", I am referring to ALL pairings that would simply never happen, heterosexual, homosexual, or otherwise. The definition varies; I'm using the "non-canon pairing" variant. Just to make that PERFECTLY clear. Okay? Okay.
